“Generational Queens”
50&Forever

LAUNCH FILM

To celebrate 50 years of Hip Hop, we spotlighted the women.

Against the backdrop of Hip-Hop’s 50th anniversary, Amazon Music wanted to celebrate fans of the genre—past, present and future.

With director Fenn O’Meally, we made a short film that shows a new generation of women discovering the music that motivated their mom back in the day. Queen Latifah’s anthem “U.N.I.T.Y.” provides the backdrop for a pair of sisters to uncover relics of their mother's past—disposable camera photos, wired headphones, and micro sunglasses—transporting them, and the audience, back to the golden age of Hip-Hop, while giving mom an excuse to show off her sick flows.

As seen in Shots, Muse, Variety and Essence.
