Generational Queens

FILM
Client: Amazon Music

Against the backdrop of Hip-Hop’s 50th anniversary, Amazon Music wanted to give fans center stage and show the role Hip-Hop plays in their lives.

With director Fenn O’Meally, we made a short film that celebrates a new generation discovering the songs that motivated their parents back in the day. Queen Latifah’s anthem “U.N.I.T.Y.”, sets the stage for a pair of sisters to uncover relics of their mother's past—disposable camera photos, wired headphones, and micro sunglasses—transporting them, and the audience, back to Hip-Hop's golden age. And of course, giving mom an excuse to show off her sick flows.

As seen in Shots, Muse, Variety and Essence.
